Miscellaneous. ' Tho Undor-Sccretary wrote with regard to the proposed constitution of the Maungaroa Speoial Roadin*r District, as recommended by the board at its last meeting, and stated it is not clear that the roads are in an incomplete state; and that special reading moneys may not be ÜBed for repairs.—lt was resolved to rescind the resolution of August 29 constituting the special road district. Tho following proposal for the expenditure of- acorucd thirds was approved in terms of the ranger's recommendation:— Akitio County Council, £86 4s. Id. 0. W. Mexted asked for exemption from residence on Section 140, Block 111, Mangahao S.D., until after the ballots have boen taken for Class D. The position is to be considered after November .29. , Applications wero received for a lease of about 376 acres of Crown land. Blocks X, XI, Karioi S.D. It was resolved to grant to F. J. Carter a permit to occupy from year to year under Section 130 of tho Land Act, Vint. with right to plough and orop, subject to the usual conditions and whatever special conditions the Commissioner may see fit to fix. Annual rent, £38. A report was received from the ranger on Section 14, Block T, .Owhango township. It was resolved to grant the present lessee a permit to* romain in occupation from year to year from January 1, 1919, under Section 27 of the-Public B«serves, etc., Act, 1908, at a rental of £3 per annum, subject to the usual conditions.
