London, September 2<5. It is understood that tho 265 guns which were captured represents practically the wholo of the artillery oF tho two Turkish armies. The Turks oast of the Jordan are now cut in two seotions, both cut off from their base at Damascus. The Turkish oentro near Maan is threatened bv the British advance on Amman, and their position is critical.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
ADVANCE ON AMMAN (Rec. September 26, 9.65 p.m.) London, September 25. An offioial report from Palestine states:—"Fast of the Jordan, wo ore approaching Ammau, north of whioh the Arabs had effected important demolitions on the railway. Other .Arabs are pressing the enemy,, who is retiring northwards from Maan. We have taken over 40,000 prisoners and 265 guns."—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Renter.
