• —— 4 KABORI'S CLUB'S 'OPENING ON SATURDAY. Although the weather (lining .the present month has been anything but ideal for the bowling greens, the Karori Club has decided to open its greeii for play on Saturday next. The green is reported to be in first-class order, and, given line weather, the occasion .should be an enjoyable one. The Wellington Club's opening will take place on Saturday afternoon, October 5. The, Hiitaitai, Victoria, and Nowtown Clubs wilL probably open on the same day. Many will regret to learn that Mr. Cooper,- president l of-the Wellington Bowling Centra, and.n member of tho Karori Club, is suffering from a poisoned right hand. Tho oricin or the trouble is unknown.' • The affected member has been■lanced seven times, and there are now signs of an improvement.
