TABLES TURNED IN U-BOAT .. ATTACK. (Itec. September '-'4, 7.20 p.m.) London,. September 23. The "Whitby Gazette"_ tells a thrilling story of .a submarine which attacked a small merchantman. The crew served the steamer's gum until all except tho steamer's gunner were liors-de-combat. Tho submarine then ranged alongside, and at that moment the gunner hurled a Ixmib at her, ami sank her. ' The submarine's crew entered a collapsible boat, and attempted to lward tho steamer, but the gunner with a second bomb killed all bub three, who swain to the steamer, and were allowed on board, but were secured below the deck. .
