Sir,—During the last twelve months a successful campaign has been conducted throughout tlio' country by the New Zealand Educational Institute in favour of hotter school buildings, playgrounds, a living wage to young teachers, and other reforms affecting education. Farmers' unions, chambers of commerce, education hoards, school committees, and other local bodies, as well as the Press, have all supported the institute's proposals. Surely something can be done at this election to show the Government that it must heed this agitation and make a much larger grant' 'for education. The National candidate (Mr. Hildreth) should ho asked to make publicly known what attitude lie will assume (if elected) towards the Government if it does not grant a very much larger vote for education..
