ORDER OF BRITISH EMPIRE
INVESTITURE AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE, AUCKLAND. At 10 a.m. josterday the GovernorGeneral held an investiture at Government House, Auckland, when, by command of His Majesty the King, no presented badges of tho Most Excellent Order of tlio British Empire to tho following:— Fourth Class, or Officers of the Order (0.8. E.). Sir. J. H. Gunson. Auckland. Mrs. Gunson, Auckland. Miss M. Downie Stewart, Dunedin. Fifth Class, or Members .of the Order (M.8.E.). Miss E. Fenton, Rotorua. Mrs. Harding, Mangawhare. Mr. D. W. Jack. Wliaiigarei. Mrs. Kirkpatrick, Kawakawa, Auckland. ' Mr. V. J. Lamer, Auckland. Mr. A. E. Manning, Hamilton. Mr. H. J. D. Robertson, Auckland. Owing to the death of Mr. J. W.Ellis, of Hamilton, upon whom His Majesty the King had conferred tho Fifth Class of tho Order, the GovernorGeneral handed tho badgo to Mr. 0. S. Ellis, son of the deceased gentleman. Subsequently His Excellency handed to Mrs. J. Holly, of Valmai, Camhridgo, the Military Cross awarded to her son, tho lato 2nd Lieutenant Colin Rally, and to Mrs. S. Bullock, of I'onoenby, Auckland, tho Distinguished Conduct Medal awarded to her son, the lato Corporal W. W. Bullock. A Press Association message from Auckland states that the Ordor conferred on Mrs. L. Blacl'ivood (nee Speddihsr) will be forwarded to the Gover-nor-Goneral of Canada, Mrs. Blackwood being a resident there now.
