RETURNED SOLDIERS ASSOCIATION
A SPECIAL MEETING. A, special general meeting of tho Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association was held last night, Mr. J. D. Harper (president) was in the "chair, and there was an attendance of about 'fifty members. ;• The following members were appointed to the executive committee of the Clubhouse Society. Colonel J. Hughes, Messrs. D. G. Munro, J. D. Harper, D. A..Higgle, and W. G. Morpcth. . A new membership rule, approved by the New Zealand Conference, was adopted as follows:—"All returned soldtei'6 (officers and men) resident in New Zealand who-have been honourably /liycfiarged, or awaiting honourable disr charge, or havo returned on duty or furlough, and who have served in or with His Majesty's Forces overseas (hiring the great European war, shall be eligible for active membership." It was also decided, in accordance with tho recomniendalion of the conference, that qualified nurses of tho colonial Imperial Forces who had returned from active service, should bo eligible for. free honorary membership, and shouldbe supplied with a special badge issued under conditions identical with those governing the association badge; tho costgf tho badge to be borne by the local association. The president and secretary of the Association were authorised to call upon ony person wearing tho returned soldiors' badgo to show authority • for doing so.
