THEFT OF COAL
WHARFINGER SENT TO GAOL. By Telegraph-Press Association. Christohurcti, September 18. At the Ly,tteltou Magistrate's Court to-day, before Mr. S. 13. M'Carthy, S.M., Benjamin Perkin.a wharfinger in the employ of the New Zealand Railways Department, was sentenced to two months' imprisonment, without the option,of a fine, for-the theft of coal, valued at £1, the property of the Union Company.
