OR.YSTALATE CUP COMPETITION. Three interesting games were played at Alcock's rooms last lUght. Hie first was between Mead, of the Pe one Working Men's Club, and Brackenridge, of the Post Office Club,, tho former player proving the winner after a fairly close contest, The second game was between Private B«k ot Trentham, and Moore, G.P.O. Club. Bait had quite the best of the game, and although his style contains nearly all the possible faults, he.scores welß and played with acumen. The scores at the finish were-Rait, 300; Moore, 189 Oongdon, of the Commercial and Farmers' Club, Masterton, who .lias won tills contest four times then played Hoffeins, of the G.P.0., and Wured his full score when his opponent was a little over halfway. Condon's play was very, interesting, and embodied a great variety of shots. Hotfcins has a particularly nice style, ,m& cues far better than is ceneral. Wfitlt more experience he will have to bo reckoned with. The bestfreaks were; Congdon. 27, 23,31, 27,3nMead,,30; Moore, 20;' Rait 35 21 To-night Stone will play Dunlop. at 7 o clock, and owing to sickness in Goodwin « family the. game with Brice will not be played.
