FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for north-westerly to south-westerly winds, Btrong to gale. Expect stormy "weather, rain probable generally, with snow on higher levels and flooded rivers in Westlaud and Southland. Barometer fallinK for a short time in the north, but rising soon in the south. High northerly windn have ruled, especially in ajul (southward of Cook Strait through a westerly storm area, which is now enveloping the Dominion.
