LADIES' REPRESENTATIVE HOCKEY MATCH
OTAGO V. SOUTHLAND. Hy Telesrarh-I'rcaa Association Diinodin, September 14. The Otago v. Southland" ladies' representative mickey match was played on ihc Caledonian Park 10-day in glorious feather, before a fait number, of spectators. "■ 'L'ho match' was a fast and spectacular .game, several of fclio plays on each side showing much cleverness. Uiago was die'urst to score. Miss Sanderson scoring from a centre' from Miss, "Wills. Miss Hislop, who played brilliantly throughout, equalised almost immediately after. Fast play followed, Miss Gunderson adding another goal for Otago beforo half-timo. Fast play followed the- opening of the second ,spell. Miss Horner quickly brought the scores level with a hot drive. y The game ended without further score—a draw, two goa'ls.each. A series of games in the ladies' competition- was played at Karori Parle on Saturday. • Results :'— P-ay Department v. Base Records.— Pay Department had all the "best of the game, winning by five goals to nil. In the first'spell Miss Toman scored two goiils, while in the second half Misses Adams, Toman, and Martin each scored. Mr. It. J. Lloyd was referee. Public Trust v. Huatahi.-Public Trust easily defeated Huatahi by five goals to nil. scoring r three goals in the first/half and two in the second. Tho. scorers were Misses Orsman (2). Israel (2), and Gilfedder. Mr. A. C. Wheatley acted as referee. Juniors. Te Aro School v. i .U'.C.A.—For the third time this' season the game between these teams ended in a draw. At the call oi time neither «ido had scored. Two extra spells of ten minutes each were played, without any score. Mr. A. Neudhain had charge of the game. • WEN'S HOOKEY. The competition for the Charity Cup advanced another stage on Saturday with the following results:— Ramblers v. Base Records.—Ramblers, right from tho bully-off, took charge, their combination proving too good for their opponents. They put on four goals in each spell, and won by eight goals/to nil. The scorers were Johnson (5), Blackie (2), and Grade. Messrs. Dougall and 'Wheatley were referees. Karori v. Featberston.—ln the first spell play if anything was in favour of Karori, who scored two goals, Smith scoring both, while Wriglcy, scored for Foatherston. In the second spell play was very even, both sides scoring two goals each—Reid and Lowry for Karori, and Lyo and Barton for Featberston. Karori won by four goals to three. Messrs. Pragnell and Manning were the referees.
