ITALY AND THE WAR

The Italian week starts to-day, and special efforts are being made to raise money for the Italian- Reel Cross Fund. With this object in view, the Hon. T. 51; Wilford will deliver :\ lecture on "Italy and the War" in the Town Hall at 8 o'clock to-iik'bi. The subject is a popular one, and, as dealt with by Mr.' Wilford, should prove one of the most'intcresting of his war lectures. The object for which the lecture is to be given must appeal to all, and a large audience is assured. The Wellington Patriotic Society's Band has given services, and will play selections previous to the lecture. Their Excellencies the Earl and Countess of Liverpool and the Mayor and Mayoress of Wellington will be "present. Tickets may be obtained :vt the Bristol, where, the box plan is now open, or at Mr. Norman Aitken's,. Cdnrfeiiiiy Place.
