Cd.; light fat heifer, £9-10s.; forward .condition cows, £9 10s.; store cows, £5 6s. to £6 10s.; 18-month empty heifers, £5 10s.; 18-month .Jersoy steers, £5 Is.; 12-month heifera (low condition), £2 Bs. 6d. to £3 Bs.; 12-month Jersey steers, £2; springing, cow, £17 2s. 6d. - Messrs.; Dalgety . and Company, Limited, report having held their weekly stock sale at Levin on Tuesday, when they oflered a small yarding of sheep and cattle. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., : report having held a special sale of dairy) cattle in the Carterton yards on Tuesday, when they offered a good entry to a fair attendance of buyers. Bidding was inclined to drag, and a number of pens were passed at. auction. Good business, however, was done privately, and a. practical clearanco was effected. Quotations.— Heifers cloao to profit, £12 10s. to £15; lato calvbrfe, £10. to £12; cows in milk, to £15; springing cows to £14; empty forward :cows, £12;. yearling heifers, £5 ss. . The Wairarhp'a Farmers' Co-operative Association, Limited, Pahiatua,, report .on .their weekly sale, held in the Farmers' yards; on September 10, as follows:—ffo had a. small yarding of hoggets, which did not meet with very keen competition under itlie hammer,' but wo were successful in 'disposing of ,the bulk of our. entries -at ;the following prices:—loo m.s. hoggets, 235.; '69 do. d 0..'255.; 78 do. do. (small), 16s. 4d. Cattle: Empty cows sold at from £4 10s. to £7; springing heifers, from £10 to £13.
