SLIPS ON THE RAILWAY

TRAFFIC PRACTICALLY NORMAL AGAIN. (By Telegraph—Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, September 9. Railway traffic is practically normal again, though all tho trains are running late. A big slip came down on the Okehu bank last night, but a gang of men, with barrows, etc., went out with, the first train to New Plymouth, and cleared the track in a little over an hour. All the railway bridges are quite safe, the rumour about Aramoho bridge being affected being without foundation. The trestle work, etc., carried away was being utilised in connection with repair work. Tho damage done by floods and slips in the district will run into several .thousands of pounds.
