There are a few lots offering, mostly email; whioh farmers, find they can spare now that the winter is over. For anything at all good growers ore asking 6s. 6d. per bushel, but ss. 3d. is tho outside price that has been paid, for Gartons and Duns at country stations, ■while of Algerians only good samples are worth ss.' The latter variety is the i only one offering, both Gartons and .Duns being very scarce. Prime.oatsheaf chaff is still in demand, and up to £7 per ton at country stations is tho ruling price for this qualify, nut it is scarce. With prospects of more shipping to the United Kingdom there is , a renewed demand for partridge peas, and they are worth 7s. per bushel _at country stations. Golden and Scottish tares are also inquired for, and sales •have been made ,ai 10s. to 11s.. per bushel at country stations. The northern potato market is now being weU supplied from Australia. No fresh business can be obtained from there at present, and buyers are only offering £8 per ton at country stations. For coastal shipment there is still a good demand. The ? qni6ii'market has ; collapsed, owing to* Australian importations, and it is difficult to say what their value is.
