DETAILS OF THE SETTLEMENT MR. LLOYD GEORGE ANGRY AT MEN'S TREATMENT • London, September 1. The police settlement was arrived at after a conference with ,Mr. Lloyd George and other Ministers with the executive of the Police Union. A mass meeting of'strikers unanimously endorsed the terms, which are:—An increase of 13s. weekly to all ranks, plus the existing war bonuses of 125.; and '2s. 6d. for each child of school age; also a new concession of non-contribu-tory pensions for widows of 10s. weekly and £12 yearly for each child; the unconditional reinstatement of. Constable Thiel and official recognition of tho authorised body, but not tho Police Trades. Union. . The meeting cheered the president's statement that Mr. Lloyd George was indignant at their treatment, and intended, to ascertain why he had been kept in ignorance of their grievances.— Aus.-N.Z. While the strikers woro proceeding along tho Strand they captured a special constable who was' regulating the traffic and compelled him to march with them.
