FIRE AT FOXTON
HOTEL AND SHOPS DESTROYED.' By Telegraph-Press Association. Foxton, September 2. , Whyte's Hotel, a wooden building, was totally destroyed by fire.on Saturday evening. The fire spread to an adjoining brick building occupied by Bait, draper, Wanklyn's billiard room, Walls,■ baker/and Teviotdale.. This, building,' with the exception of. fall's bakery, was totaly destroyed Both buildings were owned by Mr. P. S. Easton. Thoro was no insurance on the brick building, but the insurance on, the hotel was £2000 and on the contents £1340. Barr's stock was insured for m i Wanklyn held a policy for £300, and Teviotdale one for £150.
