At midway ho passed to tho second five-eighths, but. the latter failed to take tho ball. 13ryce against secured the ball, and made a brilliant and dashing run through the Wellington line, which ho crossed amidst the greatest excitement. •Wanganui. once again assumed the offensive, and just on time Wellington's line was again crossed, but the kick, which if successful would have made the scores equal, went just a couple of inches too wide. Time was called with Wellington the victors by 13 to 11. Ward and Nicholls scored tries for Wellington, both being converted by Nicholls, who also kicked a goal from a mark.
