A great deal of commercial information relating to India and other Eastern countries is embodied in "The Directory of Merchants and Manufacturers ln'lndia," a copy of which we hate received from tlie publishers,' Laxmicliawl Dossabhai and ljros., of Bombay. The book .contains 'directory lists of merchants and manufacturers not only iii India, but in China, Burma, . the Straits Settlement, and various ether countries and territories. Other useful features are the Indian Customs tarilf, and extended particulars of such matters as Indian patents, copyright, ' taxes, and stamp duties, rates of commission, postal information, and so forth. Apart from its lengthy lists of merchants and manufacturer's and of the goods they trade in, tlio directory, in virtue of its supplementary features, is a handy work of reference.
