VERDICT CONCERNING WEKATANGAKOA COLLISION.
By Telegraph—Prees Association. Napier, August 26. 'The following is the finding of ( ,he Nautical Ctiiirt of Inquiry into the Wcka-Tangaroa collision-.—"The statement of Captain C. Ornies, of the Wekn, about the baij jamming the steering chains Was not been established to the satisfaction of the Court. The master of tho Weka committed an error of judgment in coming into tho Iron Pot* with a strong flood tido by the direct method, also by keeping too close to the eastern side whilst so doing. No action, shall be taken in connection with Captain Ormos'; certificate, but he shall pay half the cost of the inquiry."
