AUTO-CYCLE UNION

ANNUAL CONFERENCE. The annual conforonco of representatives of the New Zealand Auto-Cycle Union was held in Wellington yesterday, representatives being present from Diainevirke, Pulmerston North, Marton, Hawera, Napier, Christchurch, aud 'i'imnru. Mr. A. S. Erskine (presidcut) was in the chair. It was resolved: "That not more than two track riders sit at meetings of tiie executive; that entrance fees be paid, Is. 3d. on nomination, 2s. 3d. 011 acceptance; that the sido-car events be run in the opposite direction lo the ordinary races." Race dates were allotted as under:—Dannevirke, Labour Day; Hawera, November 20; Ash'hurst, January 1; Palinerston North, January 22; Marton, March 19; Napier, April 19 and 21; Christchurch, February 15 or 16. Championship events, heavy-weight, Palmcrston North; middle-weight, Marton; light-weight, Hawera. A 6cheme for a Riders' Benevolent Fund was approved. The following officers were elected:—President, Mr. G. Torstonson, Palinerston ■North; vice-presidents, Mlessrs. A. S. Erskine (Napier), .T. Gray (Hawera). J. Dawber (Palinerston North). J. M'DouEall (Marlon), nnd A. Nash (Dannevirke); auditor, Mr. G. Thorburn (Dannevirke); secretary nnd treasurer, Mr. ,T L. Lloyd (Dannevirke).
