, The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:-On Tuesday we held a disperal sale on account of Messrs. J. IK. Anderson and. Co., of Tiakitfl.huna, who 'have disposed of their property There [was a yery largo attendance of buyers, Outside districts being well represented. .The stock, generally, showed tho effect of jtho recent rough weather, but, in spite of this, competition was extremely brisk throughout. The registered herd of making SiorthoraH realised the following iprices:—Best cows, 43 to 60 guineas, and up no 81 guineas-for tho cow I/cna, with a good mfik record, 'ami 111 guineas for tho iwell-known prize-taking cow Beauty, who [has an exceptionally good milking record. .Other cows made from 15 to 32 guineas. fThe top .prices for two-year heifers were C 9 and 67 guineas for daughters of Beauty njd I*ua respectively. Other heifers made I* to 50 guineas, and small and backward
sorts 8 to 18 guineas. The yearling heifers elicited keen competition, realising prices ranging from 20 to 53 guineas, and averaging 351 guineas. Tho bulls also sold wcll--121 guineas, being paid for a nine-months-old son of Beauty. Others made 36 to 65 guineas. Tho three-year-old bull Rototano King fetched 83 guineas, and tho six-year-old Priuco Florist, 10 guineas. Grade cowr Bold up to £23 10s.. ike herd of 22 averaging £10 15s. Mixed yearlings, £3- 155,; 5-ycar gelding. £20; milk carthorse, £8 10s.; 4-year gelding. £12. the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report:—On Wednesday, at Palmerston North, -we, in conjunction with the Associated Auctioneers, held our second annual springing heifer sale. Tho entry hardly came _up to advertised numbers, and the quality was only fair. Prices, in consequence, were not high. We sold the whole of our entry with the exception of two pens. Quotations:-2-year springing heifers. £7, £7 2s 6d„ £7 7s. 6d., £7 155., £8 2s. 6d„ £3 155.; good 3-yeav springing hcirers, £10 7s. 6(1., £10 10s., £10 17s. 6d„ £12 10a.. £13. £14. A line of 10 good 3-ycar registered milking Shorthorn sprinting heifers sold at' 20 guineas. .The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association,' Limited, report having held their weekly sale at Musterton on Wednesday, when iln-y offered ?, very heavy yarding of sheep, rhielly hoggets, and dairy herd on account of Mr. T. N. Glover. Competition for the hoggets wag exceptionally keen, and the firm were successful in disposing of the whylo of the entry except one pea.of ewes, at very satisfactory prices. The prices wore:—Good w.f. hoggets, 275. Ed., 265. Bd.. 265. to 235.-Id ; medium ditto. 225.. 215., 20s. 9d.. 20s. 6(1., 195.. 18s 6d.; b.f. hoggets, ZCb. 6d., 20s. 2d,' 195., 18s.
