HIDEOUS ATROCITY BY U-BOAT

BELGIAN RELIEF SHIP SHELLED AND SUNK BOATS FIRED ON (Roc. August 22, 7.15 p.m.) Christiania, August 21. The Dutch steamer Gascondier, laden with grain and flour for the relief of Belgium, was subjected to a German submarine atrocity in territorial waters near Hugesund. The vessel boro tho relief ship's special flag and other distinguishing marks. Tho submarine shelled her without warning, and later bombarded the lifeboats. A number of tho occupants were fearfully crippled. The mate and five of tho seamen died in the water, twenty were wounded, aud the survivors were 'tajjen to the hospital.
