WAINGAWA BRIDGE

APPORTIONMENT OF COST. A warrant authorising tho Masterton County Council to construct- a bridge over the Waingawn River, on the Mas-tcrton-Carterton Road, and fixing the proportions of the cost to bo borne by the local bodies in the district, is published in the Gazette for this week. Tho cost is to be apportioned as follows :—Masterton County Council, 33 per cent.; Wairarapa .South County Council, 33 per cent.; Masterton Borough Council, 18 per cent.; Carterton Borough Council, 7 per cent.; Featherston County Council, 3 per cent.; Greytown Borough Council, 2 per cent.; Castlepoint County Council, 2 per cent.; and Mauriceville County Council, 2 per cent. Tho Masterton County Council is to be the controlling authority, which will construct and maintain the bridge.
