DIPHTHERIA CASES
NUMBER DECREASING IN WEI,- i LINGTON. In the Health Inspector's report submitted to the Wellington Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday it was reported (hat the number of cases of diphtheria reported for the month ended August 13, \\as 19 as compared with SI cases reported for the previous month, and S!l cases for tho corresponding month of last year. The number of cases of scarlet fever for the month under review was ten, as compared with eleven cases for the preceding month, and eighteen for the corresponding month of last year. Tho tuberculosis cases for the month were seven, as against twelve for the previous month. In all, there were CS infectious cases reported last month, as against 101 for the preceding month, and ill) eases fur Ihe corresponding month of last year. The number of disinfections made was 105; sanitary inspections, 108; and revisits, SO. In regard to tho locations of the cases of diphtheria reported in Wellington, !) cases were reported from To Aro ilat, (1 from Newtown, and 1 each from Island' Bay and Thorndon.
