A SUGGESTION
Sir—l see that there is likely to be a wheat shortage in New Zealand, and. the Government fire intending importing, wheat 'from Australia. I feel that at last the time has come when tho NewZealand people can show that they are all willing to help win the war by copying America's example, and at once starting two wheatless days a week, or two wheatless meals a day. I suggest that everyone could devote two hours a week to producing vegetables. I have nodoubt that unused building sites in the. city could be utilised for the townspeople who have no land, and that some onewith a knowledge of gardening could direct the workers, who could each control a plot. Prizes could be arranged for the best-kept garden, and so 6ave wheat for the starving European nations, and show ■ our thankfulness for the comfort wo have been living in during theso last four years.—l am, etc., WILLING TO HELP.
