a LEADERS EXPECTED BACK IN TIME By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurclii August 20. Sir James Allen staled to-day 'that he knew no moro regarding the appointment of a permanent Minister in London than had appeared in tlie Press cablegrams. As far as he knew the leaders would be back in time for .the opening of Parliament. 'file position was that Parliament was prorogued until October o, and ho presumed that everybody would want to finish the business before Christmas. Ho did not anticipate a great deal of discussion, but ho was not prepared to forecast the work of tlio session legislatively, lie did not inclino to the view that a double session would bo accessary.
