MONEY MARKET The Bank of England discount rate on January 12, 1917, was 5J per cent. On April 5 it was reduced to 5 por cent., at which iiguro it has eiuco stood. OFEX MAHKET RATES. The open market discount rate for three months' billa in 3J per cent., as compared with JJ per cent, last week and 4} per cent, last year. Short loans aro quoted at 3> per cent., as against 35 per cent, last week" and 4i por cent, last year. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Butter.—Supplies aro diminishing somewhat, but are ample for the new scale of rations—two ounces of butter and Tour ounces of margarine weekly—commencing on August 29. Wheat.-Quiet.
