NOTICE TO MILK VENDORS
A notice to milk vendors in our advertising columns draws attention to tho fact that Monday, August 19, is tho final date fixed for the return of the cards dealing with the council's scheme for the distribution of milk in the city. If any vendor has not yet received a letter and card from tho Milk Committee, immediate application for one should be made to the Town Clerk.

All classes of live stock in the Northern Wairoa district are said to havo suffered from the severity of the weather experienced this winter, which is stated to be the coldest during the past 40 years. Feed is very short in the district, and cattlo are snid to be lower in condition than in past seasons. Fortunately tho lambings are lato, an with tho prospect of finer '-feather during the next few weeks, no unusual mortality among the flocks is anticipated. ,
