Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Reed have returned to Auckland from Wellington. Miss E. Hudson (Nelson) is visiting Auckland. Miss Lorna Leatbam (Auckland) is visiting her uncle Dr. Loatham at Mew Plymouth. Miss N. Gome (Auckland) is secretary nf a Red Cross 'hospital at Walton-on-i'hames, writes a London correspondent. Mr. and Mrs. Goodbehere (Feilding) no visiting Christohurch. A party of soldier convalescents from the military ward of tho Christchnrch Hospital visited Rangiora on Tuesday, and took with them baskets, which they had mado in the past few weeks, to the number of three hundred. The Ladies' liasket Committee accompanied them, and as a result of a sale of this work a sum of .£!iO was made. The party was entertained by (he Rangiora Patriotic Society

Among weddings recently celebrated in Great Britain were those of Captain ooger Gould, R.F.A., of Christohurch (N.Z.), to Hiss Valerio Bnkewell, of Sandhurst, Berks, and Lieutenant-Colonel Lawronce Hutchison, North Staffs, of Wellington (N.Z.), to Mies Edith Leech, of Liverpool, states the "British Australasian" of Juno '27.
Very much interest is being taken in the Thorndon raffle of a chest of honse linen, tho tickets for which are being sold at tho modest sum of sixpence. Every housewife knows tho value of such a prize as this, at a time when linen of every kind is soaring higher and higher in price as the months go by, and often is of inferior value as well.
