THE SUPERANNUATION FUND

AMENDED REGULATIONS. Tho following amended regulations regarding contributions to the Superannuation Fund by ■ officers of the service who have to go on sick leavo are gazetted:— 19. (1) Every contributor whose salary is temporarily stopped on the ground of ill-health shall— (a) For the first three months of any euoh period contribute at the ordinary rate payable by him, and for the balance of 6uch period at onethird of such ordinary rate, and • thereafter at tho ordinary rato of contribution; or (b) Cease to contribute to. tho fund while his salary is 60 stopped, and thereafter contribute by way of deduction from . his salary an additional amount, being not less than his ordinary contribution, until the additional contributions so paid are equal in amount to tho payments which would ' have been made had ho elected to contribute under the last' preceding paragraph: Provided that in the event of tho retirement or death of auy contributor who has elected to coino under paragraph (b) hereof tho arrears, (if any) of payments shall bo deducted from any allowances payablo out of tho fund on account of the retirement or death of such contributor.

(2) In any case where the salary of a contributor is or has been temporarily stopped as aforesaid the board may by resolution modify or vary tho terms of payment of contributions under this regulation in such manner as it thinks fit.

19a (1)' Every contributor whose salary is temporarily stopped for any other reason than ill-health, or who is for any period on leavo of absenco without salary or at a reduced salary, shall continue to contribute to tho fund at tho ordinary rato theretofore payable by him. (2) If any such contributor is, at his retirement or death, in arrear with tho payment of his contributions, such arrears shall be deducted from any allowances payable out of tho fund on account of tlio retirement or death of such contributor.

20. (1) The permanent head of a .Department shall report to tho secretary ti> the board the date when the salary (.f a contributor employed, in his Department is temporarily stopped on the ground of ill-health, and again when payment thereof is resumed. Ho shall also similarly report as to a contributor whose salary is temporarily stopped for auy other reason than ill-health, or who is for any period on leave of absenca from his Department without salary or at a reduced salary. * (2) He shall also state under which' paragraph of Regulation 19 a contributor whose salary is temporarily stopped on the ground of ill-heallh has elected to contribute. y
