INFLUENZA IN THE CAMPS. ■ The returns of admissions to tho military hospitals' last week show that there has been an increase in the amount of influenza. During the week there vera 110 influenza cases taken into hospital at Featherston, 18 at Trontham, and 1-1 at Awapuni. Tho cases are of a mild type and are attributed to the persistent bad weather. Precautionary measures are being taken against tho spread of the influenza. Tho trouble is not serious in itself, but experience lias shown that influenza may expose a man to infection of a more serious kind. Tho camps ibis winter have been almost entirely freo from serious sickucss. _ Only ono serious case, a soW/ei 1 suffering from ccrebro-spinal 'meningitis, was reported at the military 'hospitals last week.
