By Telegraph— Press Association. Dunodin, August 10. P. and O. Co. (deterred), £345; New Zealand Coal Oil, £2 3s. 9il. The Hawke's Bay Fanners' Co-operative Association, Ltd., Dannovirke, have received instructions from Mr. John Q'ilara, of Ngamoko, to hold a salo of his dairy herd, on Monday, August 19. The herd comprises 48 high-grade Jersey and Jersey-cross cows and heifers, of which 32 are third culvers, C second calvers, 7 heifers, and 3 older cows. AH tho younger cattle aro by the pedigree bulls, Napoleon and Cecil King. Mr. O'Bura has been breeding Jerseys for upwards of 20 years, and this herd is the result of great care in selection and breeding. Tho 32 third calvers wero tested for the season 1917, when they were all two-year-old heifers. Their average butter-fat yield per head per day for the wholo of the milking season was .91, and their tosts on April 30 ranged as high as 11.3, only 5 out of the 32 testing below 6.
