Cattle- Dairy heilers, £8 2s. 6d„ £9 8s„ to £10 15s. Messrs. Dalsety and Co., Ltd., report having held a clearing sale on account ol Mr. J. H. George, of Tawataia. on August 7.'There was a large attendance and satisfactory prices were realised, ino sheep which came- forward were of good quality and in good condition, "but-were rather close to lambing for outside buyers, and this fact restricted competition somewhat. Prices realised wens :-ytooth ewes, 31s. 3d.; 4-tooth ewes, 335. oil.; 6. tooth owes, 335. 6d.; 8-tooth eweß, 31s. Id.; 4 and's-yoar ewes, 255. Id.; hoggets, 19s. lid.; cows iu calf, £12 3s. 6d.; dairy-bred weaners, £4; Hereford bull, 13giis. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report at Palmerston North yards on August 8 a small yarding of Bheep and cattle, also a small attendance of the miulio owing, no doubt, to the Sandon hoggett fair being held on the same day. Prices ruling" wero as follow:—Kwes, in lamb, to 265. (A.; hoggets, medium, 163. 3d., 17s. 6d„ to 18s> 6d.; hoggets, small, 135., 15s. Bd.; cull hoggets, to 6s. 6d.; store cows to £8 175.; 18-month heifers, £5 55.; yearling heifers, £2 15s. to £3; springing cows, £8 12s. 6d., £11, £11 Ms., to £13 10s. Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report a- medium yarding of both sheep and cattle at the Fcilding yards on August 9. The quality of the stock all through was inferior, aiid the bidding was very slack throughout. Prices' realised were as fol-Iow:-Fat ewes, to-335.; ewes in lamb, 18s. 6d. to 205.; 2-tooth ewes in lamb to 255. ,3d.; empty ewes, small, to 13s. 3d.; hoggets, mixed, 155., 15s. 6d., 16s. to 19s. lOd.j hoggets, small, 10s. 9d., 12s. Bd. to 13s. 6d.; empty cows, to £6 ss; emjty heiferß. to £5 55.; cows, r.w. bull, to £7 18s.; springing cows, £9 10s.. £10 55., £13. to £17 2s. 6d. The Wairarapa Farmers Co-operative Association, Ltd., report having held their weekly salo at Carterton on Friday, whenthey offered a good yarding of sheep and cattle. Tho firm also offered on behalf of Mr. E. IV. Pltiylo his dairy herd, which met with keen competition. Quotations:— Sheen: m.s. woolly hoggets, 21s. 6d., 225. lOu,, to 275. 2d.; medium, 17s. Id. to 18s.; b.f. hoggets, 16s. to 17s. Id.; mixed ages ewes, in low condition, 17s. 3d.
