Dispatches from Holland recount tho following sensational charges made in tho German Reichstag by Herr Schoepflin, a Socialist deputy, and Dr. Wirth, « Clerical :— Tho Iron Cross may be pwrchased for ■10 cents. German Red Cross nurses steal the food of the wounded -and give it to their friends. Many company commanders prohibit their men from reading Socialist newspapers. There are soldiers, fathers of families, who have not been granted leave from the front for two years. Front-line soldiers going homo on furlough are cheated a«d shamefully overcharged at railroad restaurants. War loan subscribers are given preference in the granting of furloughs. The distribution of n tobacco substitute to the soldiers was temporarily suspended because it injured the smokers' health. ' Soldiers from Alsace and Lorraine are "handled as pariahs."
