SUCCESSFUL PLIGHT IN ORDINARY SERVICE MACHINE. (Rec. August 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, August 9. The Press Bureau stales: "Two Royal Air Force officers, accompanied by two mechanics, havo just down to England from Egypt on an ordinary service machine, only halting once or twice.for petrol, the flight being a p iecc of routine work. The distance flown was over two thousand miles, and the pace was good throughout. This event is full of promise for the after-war development of aviation,"—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.-Reuter.
