NEW SOUTH WALES RAILWAYS AND TRAMWAYS
LOSSES FROM THE BIG STRIKE. (Rec. August 4, 5.5 p.m.) Sydnay, August 4. The annual report of tha railways and tramways shows a deficit on the railways of 4128,910, though tho earnings incrensed £57-1,795. Tho tramways showed a surplus of £40,835, and the working expenses disclosed a reduction of £88,107. It is estimated that the rnilwnvs lost -£425,000, and tho tramways £150,000 as the result of tho big strike—Press Assn.
