THE BAHIi OF LICHFIELD. ! , London, July 30. Tho death of the Earl of Lichfield, director of tho National Provincial Bankof England and of tho Lank of Australasia, i.5 reported. Tho cause-of dealh was a gunshot—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo-Assn. ißcc. July 31, 7.45 p.m.) London, July 30. Tho body of the Earl of Lichfield was found in tho Kiver Sow. Death was duo to u gunshot wound. Tho deceased's gun was found nearby—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn. [Tho third Earl of Lichfield (Thomas Francis Anson) was born in 185G, and succeeded to the title in 1323. He owned about 20,000 acres in Staffordshire, and the estate goes to his son, hitherto Viscount Ansan. The. title of Viscount Aneoii was originally bestowed upon Admiral Anson, tho famous navigator, :n. 17-17, but it lapsed at his death, and was later awarded to his, great-nephew, Thomas Ansou, in 180 C. llirf son was created Earl, of Lichfield in 1831.]
