June q'ter, 1918 .£4,597,665 X 1,407,058 In April, the withdrawals exceeded the deposits by .£466,559, but in May and Juno the deposits exceeded the withdrawals by .£359,126 and respectively. In the June quarter of 1917, the deposits amounted to .£4,525,229, and tho withdrawals to .£3,076,616, an excess of deposits of .£1,448,613., ' Tho excess of withdrawals over deposits in April last is accounted for by the floating of the most recent loan. Tho months of May and June, which were not materially affected by the raising of the loan, show a satisfactory excess of deposits.
