M'Carthy, S.M., who left yesterday morning to take up his duties as senior Magistrate at C'liristchurch, was on Monday evening farcwelled bv the legal profession, justices of the poace, tho Licensing Committee, court; officials, and tho Mayor, when.' highly eulogistic references were made to his ten years' service as Magistrate in Hawke's Bay.
