SEVERE EARTHQUAKE
By Telegraph.—Press Association Hastings, July 29. An earthquake at 5.2S on Saturday evening caused considerable alarm and a general exodus Iron) dwellings. It was the heaviest experienced lor many years. No damage was done. Timnru, July 29. A severe shock of earthquake was felt at Gases Valley, near Geraldine, between 5.25 and 5.30 p.m. on Saturday, about the snme time as the 6hoek reported at Hastings.
