Ireland inquired whether he could obtain a lease of Seotion 50 Marshall V.S., provided he fenced it. It was resolved to grant a permit, subject to certain conditions.
A letter was received from A. Dixon with reference to cancellation of Ms permit to occupy parts of Sections 6 and 8, Block Xll, iManganui, also a report from the ranger on these lauds. it was resolved to oiler the western portions of these sections lying between the road and railway, about 74 acres, in one lot,, at a prico of £5 per acre, under I'art 111 of the Land Act, 1908, as second-class land, weighted wil.h £100 for improvements, or for cash and deferred payment, by public auction at 6amo price, as the Commissioner may decido. Existing tramway rights to be reserved.
G. J. Goldfinch, jun., applied tor a license a, occupy Section 9. Block XI, Ohakuiie 'i'ownship (1 rood) for a further term. It was resolved t-o grant him a new licenao to occupy for a term ot live years from July 1, liili, under Section 150 of the Land Act, ISEB, at the present rent of £4 per annum, with protection for improvements at termination of license up to their then valuo ,not exceeding an amount of £130.
Tho Feilding Sash and Door Company, Ltd., applied, for a lease of Section 31), Block VIII, Makotuku S.D., 4 acres 2 roods 32 perches. It was resolved to grant a permit to occupy from year to year under Section 27 of the Public Reserves, etc., Act, 1908, at a rental of £3 per annum, subject to the usual conditions, no compensation to be payable for any improvements that may be eficcted, but they may be removed on termination of permit; accoss to bo allowed at all times to those having authority to remove metal from tile reserve, no obstacles to bo placed in the way of the said motal being worked conveniently.
With reference to Messrs. Stevens, Henderson and Co., Ltd., occupation of Section 121, Manunui Suburbs, 4 acres 2 roods, it was resolved to grant theme a pormit to occupy from year to year as from July 1. 1916, at a rent of £3 per annum, under Section 130 of the Land Act, 1908, subject to tho usual conditions.
Tho Commissioner submitted proposals for tho subdivisiou of Section 11a, Makowai Settlement, 70 acres 1 rood 25 perches, iuto about two equal portions, the allotment of latter. to adjoining owners, and providing land for present tenant of Section 11a. It was resolved to accept Mr. Median's surrender of Itiß Interest in Section 11a, Makowai gettlement, when lodged, to subdivide this seotion into two approximately equal tortious, and to allot them to the two adjoning lessees, Messrs. Burrell and Remnant, at prices to bo filed by tho Commissioner, said prices to include arrears of rent, liabilities as to advances for improvements to be adjusted. It was further resolved to allot to M. P. Meehan Section 28a, Makowai Settlement, about 108} acres, at a price to be Used, and to permit liim to remove his stock, chattels, ond buildings from Section 11a to Section 28a. The Commissioner submitted proposals for dealing with Section Ba, Fairfield Settlement, 131 acres 1 rood .05 perches, which has reverted to the Grown.' It was resolved to subdivide it into two lots of about 56 acres and 75 neves, the former to be allotted to Geo. Boss, and the latter to T. 8. Manson, lessees of adjoining sectionß, at, prices to be fixed by Gomifiissioner, amount outstanding for advance to-be ad-' jußted.
