Several slips occurred on the hills at Sumner, and some residences had u narrow escape from serious damage. V A landslide occurred iii a gully at Lytteltou this moi-niug. A. big cowshed was completely demolished, ten cows beans? killed. The cowshed, which was owned by Mr. William Cowdes, was an up-to-date one with electric light installed, and his loss is estimated at ,£SOO.
