A farewell social to Trooper J. Scott was bold in the Rongokokako Hall on Friday evening. There was a large attendance of well-wishers from as far asCarterton and Fentherston in the south and Newman and Hukanui in the north. No effort, was spared by the social, committee to make the gathering a success. Mr. Woodley, in presenting Trooper Scott with a wristlet watch, wished him success and a safe return. Mr. Scott, father of Trooper Scott, replied, thanking the settlors of tho district for their expression of good will. Dancing was carried ou till 1 a.m.
