The polico have arrested 3000 armed deserters in Budapest. I'lie economic situation in Austria-Hnn-gary is intolerable, and there aro spasmodic strikes daily. Tho bread is often almost uneatable. Amsterdam, July 15. It is expected that tlio meatless week onco a month in Germany will save ''00,000 head of cattle, and will result in ail increase in the daily supply of milk by 750,000 kilos (about 105,000 gallons).
