A telegram received Bays that the Karu, which sailed from Wellington at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, arrived at Lyttelton at o p.m. on Saturday. The long trip of thrco days Boven hours Tfas caused by an adverse wind and a heavy sea, which prevailed south of Kaikoura, the combined forces being most intenso. The Karu is due hero to-morrow night to load for Tarakohe and Lyttelton.

The Putiki sailed for'Lyttelton on Saturday and ia duo baok to-morrow night,On Thursday Bhe will eail direct for 'l'imaru, loading there for Lyttelton, Wellington, and Nelßon.

The Calm ia due to arrivo to-morrow from Lyttelton to load for Wanganui. It is probable that she will return to Wellington on Thursday to load for southern ports.

On Wednesday the Union Steam Ship Company's Corinna will load New Ply. month cargo at Wellington. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co. advise that the Waimoa will now load at Wellington on Thursday for Nelson and West Coast ports.

Coal and timber will be discharged from the Kamo at Wellington to-day.
