THE DOUBLE INCOME TAX
DISCUSSION AT IMPERIAL . CONFERENCE. (Rec, July 11, 11.20 p in.) London, July 10. The Imperial Conference was engaged to-day on tho question of the double incomo tax. Tho Dominion representatives strongly urged the injustice of this. It' is not oxpected that the outcome '-ill be satisfactory. No relief is likely during the war. A proposal to esta-Misli au Imperial Bureau of Statistics vas discussed, and conflicting views were exprcssjd as to tho utility of it. A delegate .states lliat the conference will probably last a fortnight. Tho Imperial Cabinet will continue its sittings for somo time after. Tho Now Zealand representatives win return ,"t tho end of August.—United Service.
