In the morning ' n they attended the American Independ- '. ,j enco Day celebration, and afterwards pro- i le ceeded to Versailles, where they were entertained at luncheon by Mr. Lloyd Goorgo. Numerous distinguished guests • wore present. In tho' afternoon Mr. : Maesey and Sir Joseph Ward, along with other overseas Ministers, attended a general war conference, at which they met :• General Pocli, General JoffrejM. Clemencsau. M. Orlando, and several dietin■n guished officers from the Allied armies, t- I'lio Dominions' representatives were wele-~ coined by M. Clemenceau, who, in a brief < st but brilliant speech, thanked tho Do- ; io minions in tho name of France, in tho al name of Europe, and in the name of s. humanity for their splendid services in : ig tho war. n 'J'ho New Zealand party left in the ■o evening for a base where, on the follow>s ing day, they inspected tho Records :n Office and the New Zealand bakery. Duri- ing the course of their tour they visited r, also the New Zealand Tunnelling' Com \1 pany, which they found fitill doing valuI, able work. To-night tho party .will return to Lon- ; don, after a strenuous but highly interesting and successful tour. : .
