WONDERFUL MOTOR TUBE

TESTED IN HAVVERA. 11V I'OWX.UJ, RUBBER CO. ' Qin'le a slir was caused in Hawcra on Thursday last when two motor-ears appeared in (he streets, one being towed by the other. It was the "tow-line" that i attracted so much attention, and as the i ears passed down the crowded streets , people were amazed to find Hint ibis strange "tow-line" consisted of a motor < tube. The car lowed in the test was a now 1 six-cylinder lluiok, which, with its load, ■ weighed ono and n half tons. Perhaps tho severest test was when the towed ear got on to the grass on the side of the road. The patch was a rough one, and , lite ear had to be pulled up on the . crown of the street. First the cars went down High Street, then turned into Manse .Street. Here (lie going was very rough, and the pulling heavy, but , the "Ton Tested" tube came through the ordeal with ease. In the latter street another car was passed, and once again the towed car had to bo pulled over slippery gi'ass up on the road. When the demonstration passed the show halls finite a large crowd had gathered to witness '.he surprising procession. It made , no difference in the "Ton Tested" tube whether the cars proceeded up gradients or over roads newly metalled or with pot-holes oh the surface. It was alPthe same The tulin only stretched a little more and pulled the car just the same. On one occasion a steep pinch, with a sudden turn, was negotiated, showing the wonderful proof of the tube's strength. ■ When the starting point was reached the tube was uncoupled and was found to have returned to its normal length. At .the show a further wonderful test was made. when, at rv pressure of 601b. to the square inch, the tube was blown up before representative business men. and was inflated to a considerable circumference. This would bo considered beyond the power of any tube, to say nothing of one which had undergone the rough treatment that the one under notice had. Taken altogether, tho test was entirely satisfactory in every respect, and far exceeded the expectation of any of those who had no previous knowledge of the "Ton Tested" tube, which is made by the Pennsylvanian Rubber Company.' who ore also makers of the Vacuum Cup tyre, for which the G-.
