PATRIOTIC COLLECTIONS

As the result of various efforts made last week a sum of over XBOD was collected locally for the French War Orphans' Fund; ,£l5O was raised at Pongaroa for a cottage hospital; aud .£2OO at Hukanui for patriotic and other purposes. The War Orphans' Fund was taken up enthusiastically. An additional ,£IOO was previously remitted ,to tho French Red Cross.
